United we stand

We all have commitments of one sort or another, often leaving us with limited time to do the things we really want to do. However where there is a will there is always a way and over the last few weeks we have utilized our time combining business with pleasure, attending 'Meaningful Meetings' and Networking with Colleagues'.

We delivered a 'working lunch' presentation' with members of staff at Perry Barr JCP. As you can imagine down time is precious so when we were left with limited standing room only; staff continually streaming in eager to listen to what we had to say we were the ones in awe.

"It was an excellent presentation and your passion for the subject made it even more special. I appreciate the hard work and effort you have both put in to make us aware of our past.     Continue the good work"

Another meeting took place at Transport House with PCS South Birmingham Branch (BEC) arranged by the Equality Officer. Following our short presentation seeking support from the Branch, we received applause and an immediate request from an individual to attend her office.

"Your presentation took me completely by surprise as it was nothing like I expected it to be. I am already aware of much of my heritage however I learned a lot more today".

The subject of History has far reaching connotations in schools, on the streets and in the work place so where there is an interest and a willingness to listen and share, we will be there.

Hopefully you will be too.
