Paying Homage to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

As the Nation, Commonwealth and indeed World mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, members of the WAWI Project payed its own personal tribute.

The West India Regiment Queens Colour and Trinidadian Royal Naval Reserve Standard were lowered and a minute silence observed to allow personal time for reflection.

This was the 2nd time the WIR Queens Colour had been paraded in public since it was manufactured in 2012. It initially paraded at St Mary’s Church, Handsworth in honour of the Monarch’s 90th Birthday in 2016. The relevance and history of Queen Elizabeth’s WIR Strand of Colours can be read at  https://whyarewestindians.co.uk/node/110

The WAWI Project would like to take this opportunity to record our heartfelt thanks to HM Queen Elizabeth II for her amazing service, duty and dedication to the Nation and Commonwealth.

As the proclamation was read out across the Uk those in attendance spoke in one voice "Long Live The King"
