22nd June is Windrush Day. 69 years since the arrival of SS Empire Windrush - the Ship of Hope at Tilbury Docks, Greater London, 1948. The WAWI project will be in Greater London, for the unveiling of two monuments to honor those of Caribbean and African decent who fought for Britain.
The event will take place in Windrush Square, Brixton, SW2 1EF (outside the Black Archives Museum): event starts at 2pm finishing at 4pm.
Is is your chance to see teh WAWI Project parading Standards of the ancestors eg. West India Regiment and British West India Regiment, 74 Trinidadian Squadron RAF and others.
